The Festival

about the artists

Thank you so much for making your way to the new La Guitarra California Festival 2020 website.

It was our sincerest hope to be able to present the Festival this September and to celebrate with some of the world’s most gifted guitarists. However, in the interest of keeping our patrons, artists and staff safe and healthy during these uncertain times, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s La Guitarra until the fall of 2021 when we look forward to bringing most, if not all of these amazing artists to the Performing Arts Center for everyone to enjoy.

Please check back over the weeks and months ahead to receive more information about the new dates, guitarists to appear, the Festival schedule, and tickets. Also, if you would like to be kept up-to-date by email, you can go to the “CONTACT” page at the bottom of the site and send us a message requesting direct updates.

Thank you, Cal Poly Arts

Cal Poly Arts presents the La Guitarra California Festival 2021 from September 17th through the 19th at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) on the campus of Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo.

Public performances will include an opening night event featuring guitar legends The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet and Croatia-born virtuoso, Ana Vidovic in the 1281-seat Christopher Cohan Center. Additional performances will take place in the 484-seat Spanos Theatre and will include American performers, Guitar Duo Tony Harmon & Nathan Towne; Russia-born performer and educator Irina Kulikova; Concert Artists Guild 2016 First Prize winner Jiji; Benjamin Verdery; the Beijing Guitar Duo; Daniel Ho & Pepe Romero and local performer Jack Cimo. Several artists will hold Master Classes and three quarters of participants will attend via scholarship.
